We went to a bonfire last night held by our friends A & C (Happy unBirthday, C!). It was a mellow event, very relaxing, and we had a great chat with our half-time California friends. They told us a little about their own off-grid living here in central NYS. We talked battery capacity - how butch is that! They told us about their solar stove/oven from Solar Cookers International, which gave me frugal off-grid survivalist-type consumer lust.

The part I keep forgetting to post. (Roxi)
We made a decision recently that makes this process feel more organic, as a friend put it. We're going to stay until the house sells. It's not on the market yet, which slows that whole thing down a lot, but getting the vinyl down this week is the pivotal event. Once that's down we can get down to the nitty-gritty of moving things in: entertainment equipment (cats), personal memorabilia (cats), friends (cats). That leaves us free to clean the house, clear stuff out (cats GARAGE SALE!) and list it.
