Thank you! to Phil and Courtney, who stayed at the stick house and took care of the cats. Thank you! to Carolyn and Annie, who kept tabs on the Duck and took care of the cats. It was wonderful to not worry about anything back here.
Things went fairly well, considering the circumstances. It takes a long time to get the death certificate, and we can't do any legal stuff without it. While we were there, though, we cleared out Dad's house and cleaned it up. He was a tidy man. His house was sparse and utilitarian; he didn't leave behind many surprises, but there were a few.
We had our driveway enlarged last month, and with the sale of the Duckette, it's time to move the Duck home. Annie and Carolyn have been generous and patient. A million thanks, you guys! Phil says the view from inside the Duck is better than the view just outside. Sage. He's the one who also says This would be so great, if only the scenery kept changing. Okay, okay! We get it! Get ready, and get out.
Maria and MaryGail traveled west this spring, and brought us back a Navajo-made photo album. Maria emphasized that this is to keep you focused and on-task.
To do (not necessarily in this order):
Have Dave Hulle finish up the electrical work
Have Bill Fletcher schedule us for fan installation
Get estimate for plumbing from Brad Hull
Move

We are going to miss you guys! I know you live less than 2 miles away, but it seems so far...
It won't be quite as easy to stop over, but still pretty easy. I think it's exactly three miles, which is a quick bike ride. Or a really quick car ride. C'mon over!
whats going on? your dad passed? im so sorry. please get back to me
I changed my mind... I don't want you on task, I want you to stay where you are... don't leave me!!!!!!!!!! I'm sorry it took so long to put your Dad's affairs in order (perhaps you are not done yet). Luckily for me, we already did all that for my Dad, so when he finally does go, there won't be much for me to do other than miss him.
Maria - haha! Okay, we'll stay. I think the legal stuff could go on for a long time, even with the amount of property he had (not a lot) and the complexity of his wishes (none). Or, maybe the red tape will melt as soon as we have a death certificate! What?
It's good that you've taken care of all that stuff. Honest to god, I think my father just didn't believe he would die, ever. Seems like missing your dad would be enough activity once he moves on.
