As we had hoped, I am getting laid off from work at the end of February. This is very good news because it means a severance package, a year extension of my benefits plus unemployment. Beats the heck out of just quitting when we're ready to leave here.
Tada!

Right on! That's great!
Oh, and how is it you're not a follower at Vansteaders? LOL! ~grin~
Hey, you were so a Vanstreader! Made me look! lol
Thats what happened to me about 32 years ago. I had taught at a middle school for three years and decided teaching was not for me! I wasn't going to sign up for the next year and I got a lay off notice instead of a contract.
I was so happy. The unemployment at the time was not much less than my pay, minus taxes and childcare and other expenses.
I became a stay at home mom and explored my own art.
Sweet!! :)
That is v. cool. Congrats! I've been hoping for layoffs for some time now. Ah, how sweet freedom! :)
A big squeal (and a quack) from me to the both of you! So happy that you got what you have been hoping for! MERRY XMAS, indeed!
