Maybe some hair of the dog?

Hope you're all recovering from your long Earth Day weekend. This holiday is typically a no-holds-barred kind of hard-partying kind of let-it-all-out kind of rock-and-roll revelry, and now might be a good time to think about a detox.

I did pick up a bag of garbage around our site before I realized that that's what everyone was doing, so I threw it all back down again.

We really did festivate on Sunday with the family, and (uh oh) we happened to take a camera (hoo boy) and there happened to be a baby there (here it comes) so brace yourselves for the cute. You're going to have to detox anyway, so let's make it count.

Photobucket
Looking pretty gangsta despite conventional hat-donning. His lovely chaperone is Cindy.
Photobucket
...and a deep, cleansing breath...
Photobucket
OH man, this one hurts a little, right in the old liver.
Photobucket
Ponderosa pines smell like butterscotch, vanilla, or chocolate. Chocolate is rare, and you're in detox anyway.
All the pines sampled here in Oak Creek Canyon (n=5) smelled like butterscotch.
Photobucket
Our faces did freeze like that.
Photobucket
...and breathe in...
Photobucket
...and out...
Photobucket
...hold it...
...and release.

Maddox has a whole slew of very attractive relatives, including a beautiful mom and a handsome dad, and I hope they all understand that THERE WAS A BABY THERE.

It's our anniversary week. On Wednesday we will have been together thirteen years.

Breathe normally.

On Friday, it was our one-year full-timing anniversary. Wow, how the milliseconds fly.

A new boondocking network is forming at Boondockers Welcome. The goal is to increase opportunities to visit parts of the country/continent that are underrepresented in traditional boondocking. Please do check it out. Couch-surfing for boondockers! It's free to join, for now.

You all look soooo cute and very happy. Congrats on all the years together.

Last time I looked you all were down in the desert and now here you are somewhere that's definitely not desert. How I envy your life!

Thanks, RJ. The elevation changes so dramatically here, that by the end of the afternoon we were back in the desert again (sorta). We're at 4000' here, which is quite a bit cooler than it was in Ajo.

congrats on both occasions... now go out and pick up that trash!

How the mile-markers fly, too. Congratulations!

13 years! congratulations! And have you really been gone a whole year already? Is that why it feels like we haven't seen you in, oh I don't know, forEVER!?

We are happy that you are happy, but we miss ya! We haven't even been to Ithaca once since you left. We tried a few weeks ago, but the weather betrayed us. There's really no way to justify a day of waterfall photography when it's pouring rain outside... the WHOLE TOWN is not the same without you two in it.

Just sayin'

13 years is a good start - congrats :-)

Congrats on both anniversaries!!

Full-timing makes real-timing just "fly" by. But you know that, of course, 'cuz you're ducks and all.

Winner of the cute award goes to the two of you! Happy Anniversary ladies. :)

We've already joined the boondockers site, even though we won't hit the road till the end of the year. Anxious much you think??? ;-)

Lets see if this works now. Keep trying to comment, but instead, the page just keeps jumping back at me. Maybe it's doing it's breathing exercise or needs an exorcist? Something like that...
The baby is cute. Congrats on the 13 years & the 1 year fooltiming! Er uh, fulltiming. Is that one word?
And how did you get that water to move upstream like that? I know it did. It looks like it did in the picture. So that's proof. Must have something to do with fooltiming with exorcists.

Congrats on 13 years!!!

Great picture of the two of you. Frameable quality I'd say. So where are you going to hang it? 13 is the lucky number!! Now wonder you two are so happy! Makes my heart feel good.

I'm joining the boondocking site as a renewal of my original full timing plan and an intention in my life now since it's clear I'll have to leave Florida in order to boondock. I'm getting so tired of being here, I may never be able to come back. If I ever get to leave that is.

Lucky 13! And as a bonus, you have the year on the road. Sweet! Lucky Ducks, for sure!

Oh NO...you're into the teenage years...but you make mighty cute teenagers. Congrats, and you are 'almost' as cute as Maddox - not quite, but close. Beautiful creek shots too.

Roxanne, big hugs and kisses to you and Annie on your anniversary. Someday, I'm going to do that for real. MTM and I both celebrate you.

So glad you visited this place. It is a balm for the soul. Thank you for sharing your pictures.

You're all so kind!

Thank you, Gypsy B!

Andra, we will definitely meet at some point. And hug and kiss. Thanks!

Well, Donna, we've been working the cute longer than Maddox. Thank you!

Thank you, Ish! I feel it!

Thanks much, Tesaje. Do you need another detox now?

Aw, Sherry. HUG! And, I think this is a good idea, this manifesting of your intent.

Thanks, Gaelyn! Both have gone quickly.

Thank you, Al and Kelly!

Aw, thanks Michelle! I'm glad you think so, both.

Ha, Chinle, trade you some cat. No one ever has the hair of the cat that scratched them.

Thanks, Sharon - it's true!

Thank you, Steve! Annie makes it easy.

Cyn, that's it. We just need to be exercised. Let's hire an exercist. Thanks! It wasn't easy getting the water to do that.

Brenda, you just can't be TOO prepared. Good idea joining now. And, thank you!

QUACK, Zoe. And, thanks!

It's not too bad, is it, Laura? It goes fast when it's this easy.

Maria, we miss you, too. It's too bad you haven't been able to hang in Ithaca lately, but it just reinforces the fact that Syracuse is really and truly your home again. MG says maybe we'll all meet somewhere warm and sandy before too long? She didn't say she'd fly, though ...

They do fly, Michael! Thank you!

HeyDuke, thanks! I'll go pick it up, now that it's not the "in" thing to do.

JO said...

Congrats to you both! Keep going and making us laugh. The baby is just to cure. I love those cheeks.

*Dang*
Late to the party.
Story of my life. But it's not about ME, it's all about you.
(OK, kids are cute, whatever...not here for that.)

Happy thirteenth year anniversary!

Just curious though how one remembers a particular date on a calendar, hm?
I would be hard pressed to remember the exact date that I laid eyes on my lovely Travelling Companion. I remember WHERE it was, but when? Goodness.
Methinks August of 1978. Any closer than that and I'd have to go under hypnosis or something.

Baby boy looks a little sleepy or maybe he is just bored with someone taking so many pictures of him. See, he's sticking his tongue out at you!

The pictures of AZ are great. We have had so many happy memories there and now you have created a few of your own.

Happy Anniversary to the lovely couple!

Karen and Al said...

Congratulations on both anniversaries! Cute picture of you both.

The Good Luck Duck said...

Thanks, Jojo. It's a neat coincidence that baby cheeks are edible!

I dunno, Bob. I guess that's why we have to pick some arbitrary date and call it more significant than the others. And, thank you!

Paint, he may have been bored, or he may have been confused that I had a face without a camera stuck to it. Thanks!

Thank you, Karen!
