We've been told to STOP IT in classier joints than this.

file-949
"The Peaks." Also called the San Francisco Mountains, because they're not in California.

We got all rambunctious and went to Flagstaff this week. We like to stop at New Frontiers sometimes and share a plate of avocado roll. We would have liked to do that yesterday, but there was none made, so we went in search of something else suitable.

Annie said This burrito gives vegan food a bad name. You know this is what people imagine when they think of it.

Burrito, you're the reason more people aren't vegan.
I've had tasty rice and beans. I know it can be done. It's one of my favorite foods. Someone worked very hard, or not at all, to make this outblanding dish. I guess it was nourishing...? Please don't nourish me again.

This cutiepie is a Sportsmobile, a rugged 4X4 motorhome with a pop-top roof for penthouse sleeping, and standing up to put your pants on. Look at the clearance! We pulled up and ogled obviously. Heeeyy pretty baby, come to Mama! *kissykissy noises* Looooking goood! If I said you had a beautiful body would you show us your rustproofing? Did it hurt when you fell from heaven? *lewd remarks and gestures* and then the owner got out and asked us to quit.

We hiked for a couple of hours this afternoon and now my left earlobe doesn't hurt.

You guys are havin way.... to much fun! I love it!! Sure glad you showed the close up of the little critter. I would have missed it for sure! Here's to finding better chow!

MTM says people are vegan because they don't like food. I tell him to not be so judgmental, but dang, that looks terrible. I hope you find some better grub tomorrow.

We will be in AZ on Friday! Yippee!!

Sue Malone said...

well, gotta say, that was just toooo muchhhhh funnnn! great day and great post

Haha, MTM! Actually, Annie is a wonderful cook, and we both LOVE food. I assert this was only "food" in the strictest sense: it provided calories and didn't make us sick.

Woot! You'll be in Scottsdale? I haven't checked the temp down there - will you be doing cool things?

KLB, I'll drink to that. I'll HAVE to drink if I end up eating that again.

Thanks, Sue!

I want an Annie ... can you have a wife and not be gay? Prolly not

Gaelyn said...

Dang, with all the good and healthy food choices in Flag it's a shame you got skunked on that whatever it was. The walk looks so much better. And love the kitty line up.

The Good Luck Duck said...

Carolyn, I think gayness is optional for wife-having. I'm surprised more straight women don't want wives - they're awesome!

Seriously! We were already in New Frontiers, so we figured we'd just grab something else. Bleh. The walk helped us forget and start to heal.

Good to see the kitty kats enjoying the nature channel. I'm not vegan and I could make a rice and bean burrito that looks better than that, oh yes I can!! Too bad you had to eat that one.

The Good Luck Duck said...

I know you could, Donna! It's like the burrito chef was mad at vegans that day.

I guess it's me (and being a bad cook) but that sandwich didn't look too bad to me.

Cute picture of the kitties. Mine would push the screen out though.... especially Baxter.

This is a fine how-do-you-do. Now, I've fallen into covetousness again. I could sell my house and six acres, buy one of those vans, and make the whole SW my acreage....

I love rice, black beans and corn, seasoned and such. I even have some in my frig as I write this. That wrap looks less than appealing, however.

BTW: If those are the SF Mts on the border of AZ and NM, there's hot springs in them there hills....

Kitties with front row seats. Life is good for them.

Excuse me, them thar hills. I suppose if I'm going to write in the vernacular of the peasantry, I should do it correctly.

Love the cat photo - too much fun. And I thought I was all over being materialistic and you have to go post a photo of a Sportsmobile or whatever it is and I want one. BAD. Darn...

That white van is a great stealth camping vehicle!

I didn't see it. Even clicked on the photo and studied it again. Then couldn't believe I didn't see it - good one! :)

My mouth's watering, not for that burrito but for that Sportsmobile. Is that a squirrel or a chipmunk? Cute all the same, great photo op.

The little flowers would make a good watercolor study.

Enjoy your day!

The Good Luck Duck said...

The Sportsmobile is covet-o-licious. I think it would be an excellent stealthmobile, too, if you didn't have the penthouse popped up. I think materialism is never really dead, it's just buried under contentment. UNTIL.

Bleen, I left out the quat barf for artistic reasons.

Thanks, Rick, I couldn't have posed him better myself.

Page, that is one of my top 10 favorite movies, and I can't think of the other nine.

Hot springs, Teresa? Yum. I wonder how one gets to them. I'll have to study on that. I wonder if I'd succumb to altitude sickness...

Thanks, C4L! Many quacks to you.

Karen, I'm an atrocious cook, and these were bad. If I had Tastyvision installed, you would know how bad they were. These screens are pretty sturdy, but maybe Baxter is still young enough to be persistent. That cutie.

Sherry said...

Great closing picture. Wish the windows on my rig went almost down to the floor like those. I'm only slightly taller than the cats.

What a bumb wrap for Vegans that wrap was. I'd ask for my money back and tell them I'll send them a decent recipe.

You two are looking mightT fine with all that juicing and walking!!

TexCyn said...

Oh cute widdle squirrel face. Here squirrely, squirrely, squirrely (say the kitties). I've looked at a few sportsmobiles. I like the lay out, but don't like the head room unless the top is popped up. They have less head room than a regular van unless the top is up. I guess probably because of the higher flooring & all. Still a pretty clever vehicle though.

heyduke50 said...

put some marinated steak in that burrito and I bet it would taste better :)

The Good Luck Duck said...

LOL, Heyduke! It would have tasted at least 70% better. Possibly 180%. It might have even tasted awesome.

Cyn, the headroom would be an issue, and I'm also wary of the canvas component (I think it's canvas). LOVE the idea of a 4WD motorhome. I'm a little sweet on Provans, too.

Thank you, Sherry! We're feeling as slick as a pig in pomade.

Looking good, all 55 lbs-less! I'm thinking you're liking that Flagstaff area...Hoping for that avocado roll on your next visit!

I'm on your blogroll! Usually for about a minute, but still, I'm there!

I am homesick in Boston, so I miss you two even MORE than EVER!

The Good Luck Duck said...

Thanks Contessa! *curtsey*

Stillhowlyn, thank you! We do like it here very much. Here's hoping.

Yes, you ARE on our blogroll! As long as anyone else is, in fact! I miss you, too. It's hard to be away from even your lovely wife in a strange city; that's homesick-making.
