Marianne Edwards, author of the Frugal Shunpiker's Guides to RV Boondocking, has created an online community that unites boondockers and people who are offering free RV camping on their own property. It's called Boondockers Welcome - Be My Guest RV Parking.
Although founding memberships are sadly no longer available, she is making the paid subscriptions look pretty sweet. Sign up and you receive the Frugal Shunpiker's Guide to RV Boondocking in New Mexico FREE! I'm no poultry scientist, but I know that's a good deal.
I don't get any compensation for saying good things about this community. I've been a member since April, and I've seen membership soar. That means good places to overnight have soared, too. This website fills the gaps in hard-to-boondock areas, and a year's membership costs less than one night in a crowded, noisy campsite.

This is a great site and with wonderful information. Lots of folks letting you hang out in their driveway for a night or two. Really great details about the sites too. I'm a founding member and just LOVE it!!

Thanks for the post. So far we haven't gotten into boondocking because we just don't have the battery power or solar power yet.
Susan, your comment inspired me to go look - there are some members who offer water and electric hookups! For example, the funny and hospitable Donna and Russ. Staying with them would be worth the price of admission.

Yes, we have electric and water hookups available, and a free dump site less than 2 miles away. Always happy to see new faces, or old faces even, for that matter. (Or, even middle aged faces, like Roxie LOL)
Don't worry, I put Russ in Lock-up when we have visitors!!

What a great idea. Like couch surfing for RVers. I might have to put my winter place on that list.
I stumbled onto that site a while back and vicariously dry camped all over the place. It was fun. Really. (sometimes we have to use our imaginations kids.)
Even though it's no longer possible to be a "founding member", it's still worthwhile. Well, if you actually have an RV.
Our driveway back home is just a tad out of level, such that I'd have to almost have the front wheels of the motor-home off the ground to keep the fridge level. I'm not sure it would be something worth offering, especially since we have a Provincial park less than ten minutes away. We may however take it into consideration one of these fine days.
