Red Rock Secret Mountain Wilderness - Boynton Canyon Trail

Bear warning, http://thegoodluckduck.com

Annie believed Jean and Skip when they said this trail was easy, so we wrapped our feet up in hikers and headed out. Those guys got flute music, but we met a friendly and generous soul who invited us to use a lock-out unit of her timeshare. We win!

Thanks, Pat! The hot tub is especially tempting!
We met when I thought she was a bear. I got over it.

It's waxing gibbous.
Yes it's waxing, and don't call me Gibbous.

The House. A guide said he has a Starbucks in there, and invites the neighbors. It would take more than that.

Aww... Back in Sedona area. Cant blame you for that . It is beautiful and I recal that you found a great boondocking spot awhile back.
I actually had a Bear try to get in my bedroom last night !!! well, he was just outside my bedroom window raiding my bird feeder. I hit on the window, he backed up a bit then went right back into the bird food. He was only 2 feet from me !!! Of course with a window in between us. Anyways, I cracked the window a bit and yelled at him to GIT out and he ran off. I hope he doesnt come back tonight cause I forgot to take down the bird feeder so he might.
Your photos are great !!

Funny all the different stories I've heard about that house. I think it's downright gaudy though.

Love the picture of ducks on the rocks.

Nice you scored a timeshare night. You must live right.

Many years ago I used to drink Vermouth on the rocks. Got to be too sweet.
"Ducks on a rock"? Hm...

I have one thing to say about that house; viva le Revolucion!

I'm kidding. Sort of.

Looks like a beautiful time. I miss red rock.

We'll see your timeshare night and raise you a stone heart.

That house was under construction when we were up there. I think they might have been putting in a Starbucks, since I did see a number of empty coffee cups around there at the time. Love your photos. Digital cameras are so great because we can take lots more pictures now than we could with film cameras, and around Sedona that's wonderful.

Love you pictures. I drove Oak Creek Canyon on my first big outing in my Motor Home thought I was gonna die! but it sure gave me experience. I didn't stop to take pictures just wanted to get over it. haha

You are going to all our old haunts. Enjoy Sedona as much as we did when we lived there.

Love all the photos. Hey, that guy chooses his house, we choose RVs. It's all good.

LD2, and his view never changes. Until he pays to have new rocks brought in.

Thanks, Paint! It's beautiful.

Wow, Jo! How big was it? (sounds like a Carson audience)

I love that about digital, Russ. How we can see our faces in a pumpkin, etc.

Well, Jean, the stone heart is cool.

Teresa, you're thinking that guy will be good eating, aren't you? The thought crossed my mind...

Bob, I like my Duck neat, but I thought I'd offer an option.

Thanks, Susan! We stay pretty comfortable here, so we didn't take her up on it, but it was a very nice offer.

Brenda, it's not my cup of tea, but I did think I might enjoy bunking in one of the rooms for a night. Just for the Starbucks, you know. We decided that if we were to build such a ... monument that we'd build it out away from everyone as inconspicuous consumption.

Sue! Did you go back to sleep? I know black bears would just as soon not get into it with us, but they will if they deem it necessary. Or if there isn't enough birdseed. We found a new, cooler boondocking spot this time, now with EXTRA SNAKES!

Love those red rocks and the pic of the ducks. Hot tub sounds Very inviting. But not if it's in that monstrosity someone calls a house. Are you going to hang around there a while longer.? I might have to take a drive.

The Good Luck Duck said...

Yep, Gaelyn, we should be here for a week, anyway (that's probably when we'll need to take on water). Come on out!

I remember that house by the Chapel. All of your terrific photos brought back some great memories of our visit to Sedona.

Love the ducks on the rocks!

Great photos - love the "Ducks on the rocks" one!

The Good Luck Duck said...

Thanks, Rick! I'm glad that photo didn't show all the Oops! and Whoa! it took for me to get up there. Are you guys headed back to the resort you enjoyed last year?

Thanks, Barbara! Are you taking in Sedona these days, too?

Ducks look pretty at home on the rocks...rock on!

Ahhhh so pretty, so pretty. Does they allow moochdocking at that starbucks house? RV coffee delivery would be required too (it's only civilized)
Nina

The Good Luck Duck said...

I think moochdocking should be a real option. Maybe drive up onto the lawn, next to the water feature? Close enough to the Starbucks that the barista doesn't have to walk too far with our lattes.

The Good Luck Duck said...

Pam, we waddled up there with the best of 'em! Thanks!

klbexplores said...

I am laughing soooo hard. I can't disagree, I chuckled about the ducks sunning themselves on the rocks. The barista would have to deliver.... my ankle still won't allow strolls even for Starbucks. Have one for me!!

So much fun. Did you swim at Canyon and slide down the rocks? I too, love the ducks on the rocks photo. You should make that your blog heading.
