This place is pretty affordable for the relaxation you'll enjoy. I booked an economy room for $60/night (no in-room shower). There's no turn-down service, and you won't be tidied while you're out at the lake. Reuse your towels - it's good for the earth. Just relax in the 108° mineral water that flows up from the ground under you. Hang around the courtyard in your bathrobe. Seriously, it's encouraged! Watch the flaps.
You can get additional services, if you'd like; Annie funded my massage. You can get a facial or tarot readings, if that sounds like fun.
I can see myself spending more time in TorC.
I took the scenic route home through the Gila Mountains and Silver City. Along the way, I picked up these folks:

They had been on the Continental Divide Trail for six days, and were hoping for a ride to Silver City to rest up, drink beer, and sleep in a bed. Sissies.
I just don't pick up hitchhikers, but apparently hitchhikerhikers are my soft spot. Blame it on the woo-woo and the hot springs. We rode together for another hour, and I dropped them off at the McDonald's in Silver City.

Silver City is another place I'd like to explore. It's a college town, but I saw no trace of students. Is the semester already over?
Things may begin to look and feel different here on the blog. I know I will! I'll let you know what to notice; it'll be like pointing out the moving parts on the diorama.

I should warn you I don't adjust to change easily! (I say that as I am about to embark on the greatest change of my life) Friends like you will either help me through the rough spots or run and hide. A massage and BIGGGGG rest sound wonderful right NOW!

I really like the "Woo-woo" section.
T&C is one of our very favorite spots. We loved the hot springs and the people and the quirky downtown. Just love it.

As many times as we've been in or driven by TorC we've never gone to the SPAs. I NEED to put THAT on my "to do" list... for sure! You make it sound Sooooooooo nice.

Silver City is definitely worth a longer stay. Take your camera. The surrounding say twenty miles in any directions will provide your camera a happy time. A walk downtown = likewise!
Do plan to go back - we certainly have our sights on a month next time!!!
And did I mention FOOD? We rarely eat out, but did three times during our ten-day stay. Each one was a treasure!
I'm drooling right now at the thought of a massage and a soak. Or maybe I'm just drooling cause I've finally been pushed over the edge. Either way I'm glad you got to enjoy them. I know you needed 'em.

Ahhhhhhh it sounds so perfect! I wish I were there with you and have just moved New Mexico in general and T/C WAY up on my go to list. I can see now why you have not answered my email. But I'm patiently waiting. Where's the spot to park the RV and soak or is it the $60 rooms or no soak?? I'll aim for TorC next April, will you still be there?? I'll fit right in with the weird and the woo woo.

They were great, Rick. The hitchhikers - there wasn't even a thought process/risk-assessment. I just let them in. It was a frame of mind, I'm sure.
108*?? Doesn't water start to boil at around that temp?? Oh, you must not be taking Celsius - anyway, that's pretty too toasty warm! Glad you enjoyed it. Add a couple of blocks of ice and I might enjoy it too!
I've always found soaking in hot water to be therapeutic for my mind and body.

Roxanne, Elephant Butte State Park has a very nice boondocking area right on the Rio Grand River, under some huge cottonwoods for shade and wonderful shelters with table are provided. Also restrooms and showers. $4 per night. If ya'll are interested, I will send the link to my blog page that gives good directions and photos.

That place looks lovely!! I love soaking in mineral waters. Have been going to steamboat hot springs in Reno, Nv. lately. Especially Love a massage and then a soak.

There's no place to park an RV at that spa, and it's lodging, so they might look askance. But, there are places in town to park, and there are also other springs.
Soaring Sun is just the best hostess. I had a great time there too. Wonderful area, one of the few that's on my list to return to. Great photos, as usual.
Are you going up to Pie Town? It's on the CDT and all the hikers rave about it.
