Last night I enjoyed a Delmas Howe exhibit and got to meet the man. This afternoon I attended a poetry reading that I didn't hate. I kind of liked it, but keep that to yourself.
My friends Annie and David are returning tonight, and so I'll be moving on soon. Annie makes wonderful ointments, salves, and unguents. A friend in pain tried some of the Añil de Muerto ointment and said it began to help immediately. The body butter caused a woman to sniff me on more than one occasion, so I suggest you buy it by the pound. She will mail it, or, if you're in the area, check her at the farmer's market or just call - she accepts drive-by customers.

It feels like I have more shoes, but that's an illusion.
I like Truth or Consequences! People asked me if I make art, and I began to reply that I don't, I just like hanging out with people who do. That's not hard in T or C. It's also not hard to grab a serious coffee jones from visiting the cafés in town - truth. Go with it; you can get the bean off your back later. Consequences.

Do you need to put the passenger seatback in a reclining position to sleep? The "butters" sound interesting. Must investigate!
No, the passenger seat can stay where it is. The bins in the footwell behind it build the sleeping platform up to approximately the right height to make it long enough to stretch out.

I'm no artist myself. But I especially like getting to know them. I keep hoping it will rub off on me. Well, in a way they do I think. They are good for me. We'll stick with that. :)

As for art...it looks like you have packing Spud down to a fine art. Do you have plans to start on some changes at the new digs? How far is it outside of Datil? It is a perfect place to store those extra shoes you don't really have! :-)

Jo, on this leg of my journey I truly don't have much extra stuff. I do have a carload of possessions in Flagstaff with my cousins. I don't think I'll do much transferring or changing this fall, but I would like to go and sit there in the quiet as suggested by Sue Soaring Sun. Get a feel for the place. Then head to Flag, maybe? Then southy, maybe?
Brenda, I feel all arty when I hang around with arty people, without actually having to produce art.
It has been sweet, Gaelyn. And, I'm already wearing long pants - how much colder can it get???
Sue, I've loved being here and having koffee klatch and game day, and all those other social things. But, like we've discussed, it doesn't pay to get sad about departures, because we'll just keep meeting up again.
Spud sure is loaded but I guess it's all essentials. Hope to see you south of your border this winter.

Contessa, these pictures lack the final bags of stuff that have to go somewhere, and my computer. But, not much different. I tend to think of stuff like books as essential, but maybe they aren't ... ? No, they are.

I bought some of Annie's salve over a year ago and think they are wonderful. She's changed the labels since I bought them. I have the arnica one and and one called "skin balm" - got them at a local coop bakery in T or C.
It's excellent, Andrea! And the body butter - yum, yum.
