What a butte! Elephant Butte Lake State Park, New Mexico.

I woke up just after 3:30 AM Thursday morning and knew I was taking a road trip. A few hours later I was at South Monticello Point, chillin' with friends. "Chillin'" must be ironic gangsta-talk, because it was really hot.

Holly, Nancy, Barbara, Jeannie, and Carol.  Y'all homies know if Carol has a blog?

Sedate-looking, aren't they?

Latecomers shall not be tolerated! Can I get a second, sistas?

Front row: Riley, Jake, Edna. Back row: who cares?

Gratuitous shot of me in a house.

Chris wanted to make her rig look big.

This was the actual nonsense going down, yo.

I'm still here, hangin' with Chris in the 'hood.

Looks like a good time, especially the HOT weather part! It was 28 degrees here when I woke up this morning. :(

Lots of fun, and great wine and cheese and .... everything else. Until the sun went down and the wind came up - funny how it goes from warm to cold in a second. I hope we can all meet up again in the Quartzsite area this winter. :)

Crazy desert! It was great to see you again, Barbara, and I'm sure we'll see each other before long.

What a great looking group, of course wine, cheese and crackers always brings on the fun.

That looks like sooooooo much fun happening right there!! It is a great life that can act immediately on an early-morning decision to just go :-)

Monticello Point is my favorite campground of all the campgrounds we've ever stayed in. We're heading back there now but Larry told me this morning we're still 800 miles away! See that little scoop in the mountains in your first photo? I swear, I dream about that sometimes.

The lake looks low. Is it low or is that just the angle of the photo?

Anyway...thanks for the great pics of my favorite place. Let's see, four 200 mile days and we could be there. That's the ticket.
