I feel like you are lucky/blessed to have the best of both worlds and all so close to each other. ..I was in Why a few days ago. ..nice and warm. And with a homebase nearby when you want it -and the great gas mileage of your car...you can just enjoy it all...without that drive from New York State!
This is beautiful, but hie thee to a low(er), drier place! :) Wishing I had that option, but will smile, grit teeth, and plow (hope I'm using the term figuratively) through! :)
Guess we miss you again -- shame since we both managed to be here at the same time for a change. Seems like you've been pretty busy since your return from the Butte. We're headed out Thurs or Fri. Renee
Another difference is NY State has had 51" of snow. But if you get here and want to come over give me a yell or an e-mail. Sunny should be here in few weeks and Lucy should be back from AJ soon we could have a GTG
And NY doesn't have that beautiful desert landscape - with or without snow, it's spectacular. Ah the joy of flexible living: add emotions and mix well! Safe travels.
Absolutely beautiful! I'm so envious! As long as you are comfortable and warm (and have a nice driveway!), what could be better? I forget why you are heading to Why - but I guess I'll find out in future posts. : )
I wish I could have stayed in Why a little longer last week, but my group needed to move on. I'm still out of the snow zone, though. Happy trails to you.

And Why not? See you there sometime this winter!
It's good to have a home base close to the area that you can escape to warmer temps. You have the best of both worlds and a great home base.
That is so beautiful, but not in the cold and snow. Plus, you are a wanderer at heart I think. Come on down to Why, and why not Anza Borrego?
Why NOT Anza Borrego?
Thanks, Steve. It is a good base, and I like being so close to different climates.
CU there, Chris!

Gorgeous photographs, but I wish you a warmer habitat for now!
I will miss the Duck when she leaves Datil for warmer climes!! :(

I'm envious. I foresee a loooong cold winter for myself!
