Spa-lendid week - Essence of Tranquility, Safford, Arizona

I stopped back at Essence of Tranquility to heat my heels while I waited for roads back to Datil to clear. I got tired of waiting, and surrendered to staying a week. It was a blur of non-activity; the most strenuous thing I did was float in hot mineral springs. Just to keep up my fitness level, I did this three or four times a day.

I did finally leave yesterday, but still couldn't convince myself that roads to the cabin were passable with Spud. So, I headed to Caballo Lake State Park, New Mexico. Although my good friend, Sue Soaring Sun, was on a people-free retreat at the park, she agreed to see me on the grounds that I'm not really "people."

Bureau of Land Management/National Forest Service office in Safford. I dig my reserved parking spot.

Deming, NM.

Truth or Consequences, NM.

I thought I should blur out his number, but instead I'll just amplify his message.

I still haven't made it back to Datil, and I want to say "thanks!" to some people who have helped me out in my absence. Thanks, Betty and John, for collecting my stash of packages from the post office. Thanks, Linda and Wayne, for closing my front door.

Glad you found some down time after all that mineral spring floating. Certainly you would be too tired to take Ken up on his offer.......I wonder how many do? You know all the right people - having a door-closing service is very valuable! Hope the road home clears soon :-)

Beautiful sunset! I miss the west!

No, no energy for such an offer, tempting as it might be. I fear Ken may have run through his local options, so hopefully this refreshes his dating pool.

I am very grateful to my Datil posse. I'm pretty relaxed, generally, but there's something about just knowing your front door is ajar, and that you're hosting wildlife, to unnerve a body.

The west misses you, Geri! Do you plan to visit anytime soon?

We waved to you this morning. Didn't want to be intrusive plus we were on our way out. Boy, what a beautiful day. It was hard to leave.

Sorry I didn't recognize you, Pam. It was a very good day.

I feel kinda sorry for Lonesome Ken. I hope he finds his Barbie.

That sunset photo is stunning.

And while she's on her way to him, I hope he keeps dining and dancing anyway.

Nothing like a southwestern sunset. They knock my socks off continuously. I gave up and stopped wearing socks.

You just don't get sunsets like that except in the west.
