New Mexico, for sure.

That was an unnecessarily long blogging hiatus. It's not like I have stuff to do.

I told you I'd be traveling with my crush, and so I am. He has some rig issues to deal with, and Alamogordo is a good place to be lingering. I can highly recommend Oliver Lee State Park, with a variety of sites for your lingering pleasure. You can get electric/water sites, or dry sites, with/without shelter. That came out pretty concisely, when it was just a jumble of choices inside my head.

Southern New Mexico is beginning to warm up, and I've been enjoying flowering ____ trees here in Alamogordo. You'll have to go somewhere else for botanical knowledge.

Alamogordo has the most thrift stores, per capita, of any small city in the U.S.* I've spotted about ten of them so far.

I hope winter is losing its grip on you, wherever you are.

I started to post and ask if you were ok, then remembered the crush travel and figured no news was good news. Good to hear from you again anyway.

Glad you're having a good time traveling and that you're seeing flowers. I'm not jealous at all. Who doesn't like things brown and covered in snow and ice?

No worries, I'm sure we all just made up stuff in our heads about what you were doing all this time. We will be in the area in a couple weeks for a family reunion in Ruidoso so I'll keep an eye out for all those thrift stores (and beautiful skies of course). Have fun!

Good to hear from you. Great photo but more next time, please :)

rSometimes just letting everyone know you are OK is enough. Post when you feel like it.

Still love that great photo of you as much as that gorgeous sky. Happy crushing!

Good to have you post again.

I like the way the electricity/water and dry sites are democratically distributed around Oliver Lee instead of being segregated into the haves and have-nots. I enjoyed it there last fall.

I have a friend that has lived in Alamogordo for many years. I've thought about moving there the past 5-6 years. From what I've read it seems like a nice place and plenty to do in the surrounding areas as far as hiking, biking, etc.

Steve, I find Alamogordo to be comfortable. Not so big that it's overwhelming, but big enough to have the services you might want. And, you're right. Lots of variety. Even a mountain just over the hill.

Thanks, Bill! I'll enjoy all the flowering ______ plants.

That's true, Al - I hadn't thought of it that way. Most parks are oligarchic!

Aw, thanks Sherry! It's a picture of me happy!

Thanks, Merikay. I am doing well, and I'm happy that people wonder about me from time to time. :o)

I'll get on the ball, Contessa! I've been lazy with the camera lately.

Jodee, it would be fun to compare notes and see how close you were. Enjoy Ruidoso! I haven't been up there yet.

IKR, Pam? Winter is too short for most people.

Thanks for thinking of me, Shadow! I'm doing well.

Maura and Pete, warm is WONDERFUL and none too early.

Cyndi, I hear the "not New England" part. Yeesh. Get outta there!

I hope you dont inspire me to start blogging again. Awhile back Jeanie read me something and I said" Where did you find that?" she said "Rojo's Ramblings" Been awhile now since I posted. You are just over the hill from my old home country,Capitan/Ruidoso, we love NM.. I think one of Jeanie's favorite memories of NM was Oliver Lee and snow flakes as big as silver dollars, no joke. It was beautiful

Red, you could be inspired to worse than blogging. You can blame me.

So glad to hear you are enjoying yourself. I have been wondering, but reminded myself that you're grown and you don't have to tell us everything you do!

How's your foot doing? Almost a year and my 5th metatarsal still hurts from time to time. LG

Well, glad to hear from you again. Oliver Lee is indeed a sweet spot. Hope that spring has really sprung. Enjoy your stay.

Hi David! I hope it's here to stay a while.

LG, I figured out that it's a weather-predicting foot now, so bonus! In general, it's just fine and strong - thanks for remembering!
