If you're looking for peace and beauty that's just a little over-the-top, you won't go wrong at Raina Campground on Abiquiu Lake. An Army Corps of Engineers park; we spent $12/ night for a dry campsite. It would be half that with a senior Parks Access pass.

We stayed three nights, long enough to overlap with Evelyn and her mom, Joy.
