Abiquiu Lake, New Mexico.

If you're looking for peace and beauty that's just a little over-the-top, you won't go wrong at Raina Campground on Abiquiu Lake. An Army Corps of Engineers park; we spent $12/ night for a dry campsite. It would be half that with a senior Parks Access pass

Ghost Ranch

A real blogger would tell you some stuff about Ghost Ranch. She would gather facts and report them responsibly.

This may have been a corral.

According to sources, this is a cabin. Spud is allegedly parked in front.

From a secret lookout above Rio Chama.

Not Wolfgang Rebesky this time.

Do visit the nearby Rio Chama Recreation Area.

We stayed three nights, long enough to overlap with Evelyn and her mom, Joy

We've just come from El Vado State Park, and I'll report some facts in a responsible way later.

"Facts" are nice, but they don't show as well! Great photos!

Thanks, Karen! Facts are informative, and overrated.

Words are not needed. Beautiful photos. You keep this photo shoot up like the past month, I might have to consider relocating to New Mexico.

What great color in your pictures almost feels like I'm there.

Jo, maybe you oughta be there!

Thanks, Steve. Pictures of NM have that effect.

What a beautifully-worded compliment, Contessa - thank you!

Too bad the water is so low (all over the Southwest).

Thanks, Swankie! You and your kayak will enjoy it.

It is quite low, Al. We're at Heron Lake now, and you can't launch a boat.

I have not posted for a long time, but your pictures were so remarkable that I had to say something! Beautiful...someday I will be there...probably not finding you, but I enjoy my travels with you anyway.

Beautiful area, responsibly photographed. Love the blues above and below. Looks like the wind is still hanging around :-( Is it getting hot already??

It's not hot, Jodee. In fact, it's on the cool side, at 7200'.
