I turned sideways into the light this weekend and disappeared, but not for long. Since I first met Monticello, New Mexico, I have wanted to spend more time there and never knew there was lodging to be had.

The woman who led this astounding retreat is also the author of this book that I'm enjoying, The Good Life Lab. It's going to resonate with a lot of you.

Nice acequia, but has no water, why ?
Anon, I didn't follow it to its source, so I really don't know why. The soil around the nut trees was already saturated - would that explain it?

Often true, Karen.
More wonderful photos, looks like a nice relaxing area.
Wonderfully not said.
Thanks! Yes, it's beautiful there. I've been lucky enough to be there in the summer, too, and it's also lovely then.
Well, darn it! I have always wanted to go on a silent retreat, so I was looking forward to your update. Figures, you'd be all silent about it. ;-)
I adore that photo of the gate with the rusty hinges and yellow flowers on the left. In fact, I love all the door photos. Very evocative. Even if you didn't say so yourself.
Suzanne, words are becoming a little easier as time goes on. Thank you about the pics!
