"Oh, just a little ducky, eh?" Step away from the bug or he will CUT YOU. |

I am looking fine today! |

Eyes front, mister. This blog is rated Duck-13. |
These are the Muscovy ducks I showed you in the Spring. They loiter in the park, trash-talking and hitting people up for spare bread. I say bravo ducks! for living life on your own terms.
I wanted to call this post The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly, but who's to say? Urban decay is bad, and ugly, but I dig it. Muscovy ducks are "hegemonically unattractive," but whose hegemony are you going to believe? They are possibly an ancestral duck species, and hanging in is beautiful.

This is a benchmark. |

So is this (just the cupola). |

It has always relied on the kindness of strangers. |

See the tantalizingly open door? |

|
The pass-through intrigues me. |

"We don't call 911. More tea?" |
I want to tell you about Ichetucknee River, but I need more time to steal photos. Wonderful place, like nothing else I've ever seen. I first floated down it 40 years ago, and I think I enjoyed it more yesterday.
Here's a video someone else took:

I used to date a guy that looked just like bachelor #3 there.
BTW, I just saw your days-ago comment on my blog about the wine photo I posted. That is a $9.99 bottle of wine. We don't drink the expensive pretentious stuff either. If you like reds, check it out: "Goats do Roam" - a popular Australian blend that you can find just about anywhere that goes with just about anything.
Har! He probably strutted just the same, too, huh?
It is no use putting good wine in front of me. It's like teaching a pig to sing.
That picture with the pretty little escape balcony with a large gun illustration is just priceless!
Isn't it crazy? I had to circle the block repeatedly to take it all in; they were about to not call 911 at my car.
#3 duck - can you say dinosaur?
Prehistoric duck. Cairnasaurus dux.
Ducks are just plain funny looking!
Two Buck Chuck is my wine of preference. But I'm not allowed to drink it very often any more!
Love the blog. Love the ducks!
Keep it all up!!
Used to have a half dozen Pilgrim ducks myself. Just your ordinary duck. Nothing special like Muscovies.
If I get to a Trader Joe's I'll get a bottle!
Thanks, Sherry!
I had to Google pilgrim ducks - they're very classic. Like a storybook duck.
I think I was a duck in a former life!!!
I love all the pics...but especially those duck feet.
The balcony scene is baffling...but funny. I also really enjoyed the video about the Ichetucknee...it's fun traveling along with you from my living room.
Love your duck photos! When I was a kid, I used to raise a variety of kinds of ducks for a hobby.
I'm pretty sure Blogger is messing with me again, because I swear I responded last night
Levonne, why do you think you were you a duck? Do you see people eating sandwiches on a park bench and have to talk yourself out of attacking? Are you irrationally drawn to feather beds?
Rose, I appreciate you saying that. I'm glad when it turns out fun, and not tedious.
Tim, thanks! Do you have an all-time favorite duck species?
You know I love ducks...and I'm not just saying that for popularity votes. We actually had one as a pet growing up. I cleaverly named her "ducky" and she was definiely "top duck" in our little family (which consisted of "cat" and "doggie"...my original names too). I still miss that quacker!
