Daisy leis

I was Miss Roxanne-ed in the doctor's office this morning. It's Fried Green Tomatoes here every day.

I can tell you, now that we've been allowed to leave the county, that we stayed at Country Inn and Suites in Seffner, and it was the best hotel experience we've ever had. AARP discount, and it just got better from there. Walking distance to the Lazy Days classroom and to food. Free full breakfast in the morning and COOKIES at night. Fresh coffee or tea all day long. Very comfortable, and very quiet.

Roxanne, you scold, why didn't you just take the Duck down and park in their campground? Oh, way to rock the disapproval. The hotel cost $60/night, and the campground $33. We would have spent $200 in gas for the trip, and Annie would have sailor-talked all the way through Tampa on I-275.

On the other hand, we were free to go here before check-in:

A wonderful bird is the pelican;
his beak can hold more than his belican.
He can take in his beak

That first picture is almost too beautiful to be real. Nice beach time. We're having beautiful desert weather. Love that sunshine.

Great beach. Nice to pamper yourselves with a hotel room and not listen to the pirate talk.

Gorgeous shells.

My dad used to LOVE to recite that poem. I, of course, have continued the tradition and taught it to all the grands. They love it when Grandma swears!!

Sometimes a hotel is a good thing...did you check for bedbugs???

Once again, thanks for the chuckles. gotta love Larry the Seagull. Let's all do the Curly Shuffle! Are you Steven Wright fans? "I have the world's biggest shell collection. Yeah, I keep it on beaches all over the world."

The Larrybirds amused me a lot. And, you guys, I had to Google "Curly shuffle." You got me!

Michael, when school is out, like summertime? Why is it better then? Wouldn't there be kids there hogging up my beach?

Ish, exactly right. That is scary stuff, that Holesus Currentry Rocks.

Sherry, I shall say NO MORE. NO MORE, I say!

Jim and Sandie, I want desert weather, too! Thanks, I was pleased at the quality from a point-and-shoot mini camera.

Gaelyn, pirates take notes when Annie swears. She saves it up for scary traffic and DIY projects.

Donna, we absolutely did check! And, that limerick is the perfect amount of "naughty" for grandkids.

George and Suzie, I'm with you. I can't be on the beach enough.

Annie, my pleasure! Thanks for writing it. Memory is quicksilver and a fascinating topic.

Kim, Larry had his feathers up over something that day.

Contessa, the course was good. It was just one day - some class time in the morning and driving in the afternoon. We're both glad we made the trip.

Nina, I kept my eye on her! Especially since the urge to migrate is strong with this one.

Teresa, I do like him, and had never heard that one - funny!

So, Annie's sailor talking is a bad thing?

The Good Luck Duck said...

I don't find it bad, and neither would Eddie Murphy. It's a reliable gauge of her stress level. She occasionally holds workshops at the docks that are well-attended by longshoremen needing refreshers.

Sailor talk? But, "Talk like a Pirate day" was last month, wasn't it?

The Good Luck Duck said...

Thanks!

It's true, Bob, and she enjoyed it. But, it wasn't as satisfying, because there was no home improvement project or frustrating situation scheduled for that day.

Love the photos of the shells. sometimes it is nice to have a little "vacation" from wherever home is, including a house on wheels.

Janie & John, you're right, and i hadn't though of it like that. It was refreshing.

in seine. Really?

Love the puns ladies!! Love the beach pics too. We were at Bolivar last Thursday, got in the water up to my .... had an interesting talk with my step-daughter about the possibility of blue vagina before we exited the water. brrrrr!

Congrats on the certificates to both of ya's!! Annie, I need a sailor talk lesson, mine's getting all predictable - not at all stress relieving any more.

The Good Luck Duck said...

Les, THANK YOU for acknowledging that one.

I think I caught that at Ichetucknee. I hear that down on the Bolivar they take it hard.

"Fried Green Tomatoes" is my all around favorite book and movie! I think I watch the movie about once per month.

Beautiful pictures.

The Good Luck Duck said...

It's a perennial favorite with us, too.

Thanks!
