We made it about 250 miles today, which seems plenty. I would have settled for the Live Oak WalMart just to break out of the gravitational pull.
I have nothing to report, except that there's nothing to report. I offer some photos for your amazement, disgust, and identification.
I said skate egg sac. Or skate reverse-direction. |
I said "KIYIYIYIYI!" Yes or no? |
Box jellyfish? I don't know. I just don't know! |
The cats did well. They all found a place on the bed while we rolled, then ran out as soon as the engine quieted.
Lake Ponchartrain by tomorrow evening?

You really need to take a look at the cover on this book. Talk about "The Good Luck Duck"!
A slot machine paying off in rubber duckies...how great is that. I saw this book today, and thought immediately of you.
the blue balloon is a Portuguese Man of War jellyfish that had one of the nastiest and fiercest sting known to duck kind... waddle very far away when you see them and stay out of the water...
The blue critter looks like something making a major evolutionary leap from sea-dweller to landlubber. And that's my scientific opinion.
Empty On the Inside
Dough, Dirt & Dye
Lake Ponchartrain by tomorrow night and 250 miles today sounds like some serious paddlin' of them webbed feet.
I hope if you waddle down I-10 into Texas you'll visit your feathered cousins at Anahuac. You'd have a quacking good time!
the "jelly fish" is not a jell
y but a Portuguese man-of-war . They pack a very very , nasty sting .Di Not pop the inflated top as even pieces of one dead in the sand will retain their sting ! hths:)have fun :)
Just don't know except those "things" don't look real. :)
How far west are you going? all the way to California? stopping to see Sue? see sue by the sea... HAHaaaa... I keep seeing these shell shops by the sea and had to look up that twister... wanna read it? I had forgotten everything except she shells sea shells by the seashore... I'm told to practice saying these twisters so I don't lose my mind... tends to wander off
She sells sea shells by the seashore.
The shells she sells are surely seashells.
So if she sells shells on the seashore,
I'm sure she sells seashore shells.
Yep, man-o-war. steer clear of them AND Jellyfish. Even the ones that appear dead in the sand. In fact, steer clear of any kind of jelly - it all can hurt you. My hips will prove that! 250 miles is a nice distance away. Stay safe & have fun!
Hey you're moving along the road nicely ` GREAT photos...
Have fun & Travel safe
Donna
Haha, Russ, that's adorable! And, wow! What a jackpot that would be, walking away with a sack full of ducks!
QUOIKIES!!!Duke, I just spontaneously ejected some down reading that. Never saw one before. And THAT is why ducks don't swim in the ocean!
Good hypothesis, Annie. I'm sad to say its first leap was unsuccessful, evolutionarily, because it was dead.
You make a good point, Sherry. We may have to fluff before we make it to Ponchartrain.
Judy, thanks for the suggestion! I remember some beautiful pictures you took there. We will need to stop and visit some featherless cousins around Orange, so feathered ones later would be a great idea.
Ooh, Blayke, even the air bladder thingie has stinging cells? Didn't know that at all. I knew about the tentacles stinging after death. That is one nasty floater, worse than the public pool.
RJ, its a weird world, isn't it? Were you near the coast in California? Are there different kinds of weirdities on the West coast?
Carolyn: too late. Keep saying them anyway. Yes, we do hope to run across Sue, but we'll claim we didn't see her there in the road. It sounds like she's hanging out in places we want to see. I can picture us at the Pacific shore, too. Maybe not permanently, since they charge by the minute to live there.
Ha! Cyn. But, fish is okay, right? I'll have the fish, hold the jelly.
Thanks, Donna! Enjoy a warm winter!
I have no comment
I love a slow couples skate... in the reverse direction.
Just thought you should know... I had nightmares about that blue thing last night! I dreamed it was an alien life form with advanced intelligence but "they" were going to kill it anyway so "they" could dissect it and explore its life form! YETCH!
You are ON the road!!! Yeah!
Getting on the road is definitely something worth reporting. It always feels great to me to get back on the road. Where are you now?
Sue, we're in Alabama. Yes, we're hurrying.
Skate's egg sac also known as witch's purse. Can you see it?
I can!
Larry, thanks for not commenting.
Ish, don't get that thing caught in your wheels.
Donna, that sounds like a great movie plot!
Contessa, we are ROLLIN'.
