Abject misery. And here's a flower.

I hit the wrong [COMMENCE ARMAGEDDON COUNTDOWN NOW] button and deleted my Duckroll.  Chances are really strong, high, and good that I lost you.  Speak to me!  Please say something!

Then I experimented with email blogging, and messed up the feeds.  There is actually a not-gross post below this one that you haven't seen, and I blame myself. I'd say I feel like a leper, but I really don't, and that would be insensitively trivializing Hansen's disease.  I tried to give you a classy NIH link, but it wouldn't load. Wikipedia saves the day again.

AND, the heck, Blogger?  Even worse word verification?   One spam morsel in 200 reaches the pages of this blog, and I don't use word verification.  I don't restrict comments in any way, and I moderate only old posts (because spammers tend to hit those harder).  Google/Blogger's spam trap is very good.   If you're still using word verification please consider removing it.  I'm not going to boycott you if you don't, of course.  I like getting comments, and I like leaving them, but I don't have anything so profound to add that I'm going to struggle to say it.

Rick Doyle will demonstrate how to rid yourself (and us) of word verification ugliness - tomorrow!

SwankieWheels told us how to find a very cool WWII artifact in these parts, and so we did.  Once more, I am amazed that these things still exist out here.  Such a thing would have been dismantled and destroyed decades ago back home.  It's because we're all bitter about the climate and we like to vent our rage on inanimate antiquities.  I'll post about the cool stuff soon.  I know.  Try to get some rest until then.

As far as I can see you duckroll is as it should be. Maybe you just don't see it??? No word verification for me. I have never felt the need. Even a tiny bit.

Whatever you thought you lost I think you found it again unless I have lost my mind in which case it shall never be found and who would want it if they di...oops gotta run, here come the white coats again...NOOOO, stay away....

Haha, you two! There is a blogroll there again, but I couldn't restore all the blogs that used to be there. Brenda, I'm glad you responded, because I got yours back up. Donna, I'm pretty sure I had yours, but I'll check.

I always read your blog. It seems to me you get lots of positive comments, and leave me with nothing much to add. I've been reading posts on the iPad lately, and it is somewhat harder to type.

Quack, quack. Right on!

Thanks, Merikay! I know, when I'm "stuck" with Annie's iPad I never comment. I hate that little touch pad.

Hello.....Am I still there? I saw the earlier post that has some of these same pics. I tried setting up a blog offline and couldn't figure it out either. Need a blogger to tell us how to do it.

Yep, you're there! If you use a PC, Live Writer gets rave reviews, and it's free. There's nothing like it for free for Macs, although I did that last post from iPhoto and Mail. It wasn't what I wanted, but it was something.

Ciao bella :) Word verification is the debil (borrowed from Waterboy).

We are here in blogoworld just awaiting the next quack from the Good Luck Duck empire. Love the pics as always and our fellow quackers seem to be on a bitof a roll today, perhaps a drumroll?? Nope, it's a duckroll extravaganza!!

Oh goodie goodie, even after being VERIFIED by google in retaliation for removing verification from my blog, it's STILL ON THE DUCK ROLL!
Best luck I've had in about 2 months.

I see the duckroll......I don't even know what word verification is or does Much less how to get rid of it. ...waiting on Rick Doyle to tell all of us.

Rubye Jack said...

Did they make word verification easier or am I simply learning how to decipher those things they call words? I got all my comments in yesterday with only one try vs the 3 or 4 the day before, on each blog. Whatever.

These are such beautiful photos.

I HATE the new word verification. May have to take it off, again.

Thank you Roxanne for letting me know the word verification was still on, as I thought I had gotten rid of it. I too hate have to try and figure out what the letters are, so NO WAY do I want that on our blog.

We are currently in Q in the LTVA and have enjoyed scouting out some of the back country, however not as much as we would have liked to do this season. What we have found is the areas has "normal dirt roads" that most people can get out and enjoy the scenery.

Our first trip we went out Plomosa Rd to Bouse, went across the RR tracks and followed the dirt road, which at the end found out it came out about 10 miles north of Parker.

From 95 toward Parker, Arizona, to State Route 72. Turn west on 72 towards Parker. Two miles south of Parker turn east onto Shea Road and follow this paved road for 5 miles. Roads near the wilderness include a powerline road on the northeast, Cienega Springs road on the west, and a mining road on the south. High clearance or four-wheel drive vehicles are recommended for access to the wilderness boundary, but if you stay on the main road. Hope this helps, so y'all can see some of the back country.

Your blog has a lot of great information, so we will be following along. Have a quacking good time! Deb

Since I'm not a blogger, I will not concern myself with the verification issue (unless I'm somehow prevented from posting a comment). Just wanted you to know that I'm still reading, enjoying all your beautiful photos, and green with envy that you are in AZ and I am not!

Oh Sherry, I'm so relieved to see you here, because when I clicked on your newest post (on my still-in-progress blogroll), it said your blog was deleted. [Annie just said it was a Google thing. SHAKES WEBBED FOOT AT GOOGLE]

NELLIE! I miss you, girl. I have to just imagine what new things you three are up to out there (not all that far from us these days), and what that crazy stationary life looks like. We want to know! I'm glad you stopped over to ciao bella us.

Hear, hear, Karen.

Haha Lou. I'll bet you didn't sleep well last night, just anticipating. Well, I'll try not to let that happen again tonight.

Nancy, you'll know it when you see (but can't identify) it. Yes, Rick will supply all the details, I'm sure.

Rubye, I don't know about easier. One word is very plain. The next one gets put through a dimension shifter on another plane. The old WV was a nuisance, but it was always readable. Does that mean bots are getting smarter? Sheesh. Thanks about the pictures.

Gaelyn, if you don't like the result, the worst is that you put it back again. Pretty low-stakes, I think.

Hey, thanks for that, Deb! Maybe we can combine some backroads peeking with some errands in Parker today.

Blogger knows what is best for us. Blogger knows what is best for us.

Karen, best not to even think about it, since there's not much to be done from a commenter's end. And,maybe you should just come to Arizona! There, problem solved. It is beautiful here.

Thanks for the shout-out and for your efforts in ridding blogland of word verification.

The Good Luck Duck said...

My pleasure, Rick. Thanks for the tutorial.

What is going on - is arid Arizona making you flaky? Do I even have comment moderation? Leave a comment. Let me know!

The Good Luck Duck said...

I won't rule that out! Your blog is clean as a recently-cleaned whistle with no spit yet redeposited!

Messing up, (and no relation to Debra) is one of the reasons why I'm dead set against making any changes to my Homer and Jethro mind numbingly simple blog. There, I said it.
I have trouble enough finding my trousers in the morning. If I start making changes to stuff that works, I'm done. Seriously.
I just have to be somewhat careful here, since drinking and commenting don't mix. Oh wait, did I say that with my "outside voice"?

And....Nellie? Is that you?
Oh Nellie. *sigh* You didn't post all regular like, but it was always fun. Do you have a house? Is it sunny there? Are there...I don't know, people on roller blades? (actually, you could leave that part out, that's just an accident waiting to happen type of activity.)
Have you cleaned the dog's teeth lately?

We miss Nellie.

*reprise*

Le *sigh*

Glad you got everything working again. I agree with the word verification thing, I took mine off awhile back, glad I did. Love the flowers and thanks for making me smile every time i read your blog! :)

Actually, sometimes I like when someone turns something serious & scary trivial.

Lost & found can be frustrating, but it looks found again, so...

I'm still honored with a place in the Duck Roll. :)

Love the photos today. Desert flowers are an unexpected delight in the landscape.

Bob, once the glass is in my hand I have no idea which voice I'm using. We miss Nellie, too! I'm sure she would amuse us hard with her stories of life not on the road. And, I'm sure Bosco still poops.

Debra Messing - what a cutie.

Aw, Janie, thanks for saying that. Making you smile is why I write this foolishness.

Me, too, Mary. I just got to thinking that a leper might read that and then get so mad that he'd type a finger off.

Rose, I hope so. This has been scary.

Andra, I couldn't lose you. And, yes. Desert flowers are subtle and easily overlooked. Not like Floridian flowers or Hawai'ian flowers who are all AREN'T I BEAUTIFUL SO RED OR YELLOW OR WHATEVER I AM.
