I'll save you the trouble.

Wildflowers here are getting pretty obnoxious.

I mock eagles. Behind their backs, far away.

And the scenery is getting on my nerves.

I'm telling you, the woman's a master of camouflage.
So, what bugs you about the Sedona area? I'll go see it and be irritated on your behalf.

Absolutely love the photos. Glad the bird got the snake, very unusual photo shot.

Those bird shots were all Annie's. And, she was the one driving!

I'm hoping to get to Sedona at the end of Oct when I leave here. Take lots of notes, there will be a test next week.

Yeah, yeah, yeah...the rocks are sooo...red...they get boring after awhile...but I guess we never got to stay that long! Seems like all the buildings are painted in colors that blend with the landscape...what's up with that...isn't this a free country...can't we paint our buildings any color we want? What's wrong with purple, or bright yellow with green trim?!?!! Grit your teeth, grit your hair, grit your toes, grit your (whatever)...and try to bear it just a bit longer. I'm sure things will heat up to the point where you'll be leaving. Come to Oregon...it's just beginning to get really nice weather here now. You'd love it!

Yes, I can see why it would be nerve-wracking. Damn flowers blooming, stupid red rock. That ugly Sedona, with its dumb blue skies....

Russ, I'd be willing to bet that the city of Sedona has zoning, or some such laws that prohibit primary colors. Just outside of town is a place called The Dome painted in every color of the rainbow. I'm big on garish colors, but somehow it grates - go figure! This is the only place I've ever approved of matching house and mountain.

The Good Luck Duck said...

You understand completely, Teresa. It's hell.

Michelle said...

Lets switch places. I'll put you out of your misery.

The Good Luck Duck said...

I couldn't let you do that, Michelle. It's not right.

And that darned Oak Creek - just annoying gurgles and burbles over the rocks. Not to mention all the hummers fighting over the feeders at Red Rock State Park...oh and did I mention the annoyingly sweet fishes at the Page Springs fish hatchery. SIGH!! LOVE LOVE LOVE the pictures. WOW!!

The Good Luck Duck said...

ACK! Disgusting, Donna. And all those stupid Ponderosa pines smelling like pudding! I'll go see those things some more so you don't have to.

Absolutely obnoxiously beautiful...blah, blah, blah! Sedona has "spiritual presence", so be aware. Forewarned is...something or other! Lynda

Sherry said...

Ok Missy since you dislike this all so much just beam me over and I'll take your place and you can take mine!!

We should all live such dull lives.... I guess you know you should get out a little more often when you find you're totally entertained by a bird eating a snake. Who the heck needs TV anyway?

Terry said...

Oh, I'm so GLAD you are suffering.....

....and sending us proof of your suffering. That way, we can suffer right along with you.

But, I'm suffering because I'm still stuck in Oklahoma City and can't travel yet. So, we try to see the country for now through the eyes of others who are willing to share their pictures.

At least we can use the two of you to do our research of places we just HAVE to see.

Thanks for being the scouts.

Yeah, but what about all those harmonica convergences they have down there?

I'm ready to be bored. My life is so hectic and interesting and fulfilling. My tongue is so in my cheek. (I do think my situation is soon to change)

Cheryl (Desert Diva) said...

Nice surroundings - I'm almost free to enjoy too! Eighteen days, but who's counting...

The Good Luck Duck said...

Ooh, Lynda, spiritual presents! You shouldn't have! *GRAB* I will be on the lookout for these dangers.

Sherry, you know I would, but it wouldn't be fair to you. I'm willing to take this hit for you. What are friends for?

Exactly, Sharon! If we were watching TV, it would probably be the Discovery Channel anyway. Ooh, look, that hawk is totally eating that snake! Gross!

Terry, it's the very least I can do for you, and I always do the very least I can do. Once you get out here, you can suffer fully in person.

Harmonica Virgins! I forgot about those, Chinle! Slightly better dates than Bagpipe Virgins, but not by much.

Michael, I hope you're referring to good news of which we shall not speak until it comes to be!

Oh, Cheryl, you are SO CLOSE! You are going to get here and wish you were with seven-year-olds, that's how bad it is.

I can certainly see why you would be so irritated at all the scenery bothering you!! :-)
Wonderful pics...awesome!!!

OK, the thing that bugs me is the dippers (water ousels) How can they just walk underwater, catch and eat bugs, and not choke???

The Good Luck Duck said...

Judy, I had to look up every bit of that, and now they bug me, too! I'm going to need to watch for them.

Happy, right? You can see why I'm in such a bad mood all the time. It's not my fault.

meowmomma said...

the thing that bugged me about that area was being excluded from feeling a vortex... I mean ~ practically anybody and their uncle can find one, but not me!

The Good Luck Duck said...

I hear ya, Judy. I am going to sit there until I feel it, by golly. Trim young things in yoga gear can just wait their turn until I get 'texed.

Barb said...

Oh My God - those raptor photos are fabulous! I'm trying to get a good photo of a BIG bird of some kind, either sitting or flying, but so far, nothing. I'll keep trying, I'd love to get some like those. :)

Gaelyn said...

I hate snakes. And of course I have to look at a lot of ugly red rock too. So boring. Maybe you can sucked up into a vortex.

JO said...

I really hate snakes so I hope they eat lots of them. Pictures are great.
Sorry your so bored with it all. hahaha

Andra Watkins said...

There's an old cliff dwelling way out of town on a dirt road. You need a pass to park there, but they have rangers to give you a tour. Dang annoying. Maybe you shouldn't go out there.........

Carolyn said...

What is the zoom x on that camera?

You guys are becoming awesome photogs.

Thanks for the great shots of Sedona. Makes me homesick. We lived just at the base of Lee Mountain, which is in one of your photos.

The Good Luck Duck said...

Barbara, Annie says "thanks!"

Snakes startle me, and the looming specter of a rattler scares me. Plus, you know, they bug me. The hawk would be happy to oblige you, Jojo. And, maybe I will get sucked into a vortex, Gaelyn ... thanks? :D

Andra, that sounds so irksome - thanks for the idea. We are parked very near a popular petroglyph site (the V bar V Ranch, and not so far from Montezuma's Castle. The petroglyph site does require a dull pass and a tour. Thousand-year-old rock carvings - ho-hum. Do you recall there being a connection to the Vernal Equinox?

Carolyn, this is Annie's camera, and I think it has a 16X optical. It's a Pentax point-and-shoot. Thanks!

Ooh, Paint, that must have been great. Someday I'd like to hear the story of what called you away.

sierrasue said...

Beautiful photos today !!!

momi yaya said...

Excellent photos. Hard to believe it's a Point and Shoot.

The Good Luck Duck said...

Carolyn, I was mistaken - it's an 18X optical.

Gypsy B, the P&S's are pretty impressive these days.

Sue, thanks for saying so.

It's a tough job but like they say...someone has to do it! Would love to hook up with you but we are in Va right now for a couple of months...maybe this fall.

The Good Luck Duck said...

It's funny how often the RV meet-up happens, AFCG. It's like we're all on wheels.

heyduke50 said...

ONLY THING THAT BUGS ME ABOUT THAT AREA IS WE AREN'T THERE YET... and yes I was yelling...

The Good Luck Duck said...

HeyDuke, that's a problem. Hopefully, you're loving where you're at ALMOST as much as you'd love Sedona. No? I don't blame you.
