The weather is still lovely here - perfect, in fact - but that won't last forever. We'll be sliding back down the plateau soon to meet friends who want to tent-camp in Arizona, but still want digits intact in the morning. That seems a little finicky to me, but they're guests.
You guys have been giving us great ideas for winter boondocking, and there's no particular reason we can't use all of them. We have wheels, and the winter is long.
[It isn't.]
Here in Flagstaff we've been doing family stuff, which is fun, but not for you guys. That's why I'm not posting pictures. Oh wait! I have leftovers. Let me warm them up and serve them like they're fresh.
Petroglyphs from Angel Canyon - Kanab, Utah
This may not be a petroglyph, but can you prove it? |
Maybe horned owls. |
I just got a Juror Qualification questionnaire! Have you all gotten one from your home county while full-timing?

Nope, guess they don't have too many criminals in Minnehaha Co. South Dakota.
And only 14 permanent residents - just enough for alternate jurors.
And...? What did you do, Swankie?
Well I don't worry about that stuff. I am hard of hearing NO WAY the judge will let me sit in her/his office...court room, what ever they call it. Good question though I would like to know the answer.
LOL, Michelle! Well, that would exempt you from actual duty, maybe. You might still have to show up to be excluded, and if I were already there I'd go ahead and serve.
I'm with Judy. Not many criminals and no residents in Minnehaha County. Don't come south too soon. It's still HOT down here.
Thanks for the warning, Sandie! We'll keep some elevation for a while.
aare you in one of those places that if you stay Very long, they consider you a resident? Stop drawing in the sand with sticks aand calling it fancy names, like petroglyphs.
That's a good question, Cyn. I don't have an address here, other than my cousin's, so I don't know how I'd establish my AZ residence. And, are you challenging my artistic abilities??
I love leftovers...thanks for sharing yours.
My pleasure, Donna. There's always plenty to share.
So you heard us start up the engine, eh!! Just doing a few pre departure checks and other stuff.
Yup, I've had a jury summons. In Minnehaha county they're very cool about it and all you need to do is write "fulltime RVer" on the form and they will exempt you. Each county is different though so you'll just have to call the jury clerk and ask them. Or check with your mail forwarding service...they will have dealt with this before.

Great leftovers - always better the second time around.
Contessa, you guys seriously need to step away from the house! For a few months.
Minnehaha sounds awesome, you guys. I just wish it weren't in SD!
Thanks, Rick!
Loving those petroglyphs! Next time I'm down there I totally want to go check those out.
Sometimes I think I cannot prove anything. Which is good. ~Mary
Yep on the jury summons. If your mailing address happens to be Rainbow Dr., Livingston, TX, then just call the Polk County folks and tell them you're an Escapee, and all is forgiven!
It's better that way, Mary.
Lynda, it happens not to be, but that seems like a reasonable action anywhere.
You should, Somer. They're actually better than pictures of them.
Seems like I can always come up with an excuse. Being far away sounds like a good one.
Thanks for the leftovers. Don't freeze there in Flag. I have heat on tonight. But it was warm at Toroweap the last two nights.
Those are neat photos! Thinking of you guys.
John, I've been wondering what you're up to! Are you guys done with planting?
We're doing okay so far, but will move this week to greet our NY friends someplace warmer at night, I think.
Just tell them your motto is "hang 'em high" and you believe in truth, justice and the American Way. If you could just serve on the jury it would "make your day". Love those leftovers!
LOL, Russ! That would be perfect in our ultra-liberal Ithaca. Of course, the prosecution might not get too many of those responses and would snap me up in a heartbeat.
