Monticello, Winston, and Chloride, New Mexico. With company.

My friend, Maggie, is here in T or C visiting me! Throwing caution to the wind in celebration, I ate cheese. I pulled out the stops.

"...you know I'll always love you ... AND THAT'S HOW YOU PERFORM THE FULL-NELSON, EDITH. LET ME KNOW IF YOU HAVE OTHER QUESTIONS,"

It's time to play "What Are You Looking At?"

Do you see?

R: She's undercowver.
M: It's a cowvert operation.

Do you see it?

Haw haw haw haw! Look what I'm doing!
That's so wrong.
I'm a cow! I'm pooping!
They're taking your picture.
I'm a Cowver Girl!

Lavatory Mists
Always an appropriate house gift for someone you want to impress.
We had an early supper at Chloride Bank Café, where the food was yummy again. I did not cheese it up here - I AM NOT AN ANIMAL.

I feel like there's a subtle theme running through this post. If you're blocked: 11-year-old boy.

I thought this morning I wonder if 52 between Winston and the Very Large Array is passable? and this afternoon two friendly ladies from Las Cruces said "We just came from the Very Large Array on a dirt road!" and they said it was just fine. Now we know. They un-recommend it during monsoon or after a rain.

It's shorter, but it's longer, if you know what I mean. These ladies claimed it took them 1:45, but I think they lost track of time from having so much fun. Google brings it in at 3:27.

Here's the longer, shorter way:

2:36

My father used to say "I like a shortcut if it doesn't take too much longer."

No "might be" about it. I left out the "H". Inebriated for sure.Way to go Brenda.

And I love your dad's quote.

You can claim that it's a contraction. I have friends who call them "gr'oppers."

What a beautiful horse.

I can't believe you found a stream in NM with water IN it! The dry riverbed, I totally expected, though... beautiful horse... glad you and Maggie are having fun exploring the desert and assorted yurts. I don't own a yurt, but I miss you enough that it sometimes yurts, does that count?

Aw, Maria, that's cute! xo!

We did, Jo.

What kind of cheese?
Wonder why all those blocks are lined up?
You KNOW that soon there will be a lot more grasshoppers....
You're not an animal, and I can tell you're no cow-ard, either.

Mozzarella.
I think they were making them.
I wonder if they know what's causing them.
I LOVE PUNS.

Cheese, of all things. Ouch. Betcha you won't make that mistake again.

As cheese most definitely does not go with prune juice (and don't ever try it), having any cheese is best done in moderation.
Feel *free* to correct my syntax.

I can see I'm going to be even more homesick for my one-year home in New Mexico while reading the NM experience through your eyes. I regret we didn't encounter each other before I left only last week! Enjoy!

" I wonder if 52 between Winston and the Very Large Array is passable?" PASSABLE....hahahahaha. You are very funny. And seem to have a one track mind. Not bad depending on the track.

The Good Luck Duck said...

Lol, Sherry! And, maybe it's a one-tract mind.

Mzuri, I'm glad I found your blog - so well-written and fun - so I can get some more ideas. I'm sorry, though, that our paths haven't yet crossed.

Bob, why is it called "prune" juice? Do they really dry out the plums, then add water and juice them? I could do that better.

I've learned my lesson, Jan.

What is with that fabulous horse? Was it a wild horse? Incredible photo.

The Good Luck Duck said...

Swankie, they (there were two) were so glossy and sleek that I can't imagine they were wild. But, they sure seemed to have the run of the mountain.

They make it sounds so appetizing. http://www.chacha.com/question/how-is-prune-juice-made

Oops. An extra "S," but I'm not inebriated.

I love your dad's saying. So true, isn't it?

The best way to eat cheese is melted on top of Mexican food with sour cream and guac. Yummm. :)

Ah, but the scenery is so much better via the shortcut! Where, generally, are your new digs? We're off Greens Gap Road in the TeePee Ranch subdivision (10 miles south of Datil). Horse Peak is south, Sugarloaf Mtn is north (by substantially more...).
