What a year. I'm exhausted.
Tonight: watching the Pine Cone drop from the Weatherford Hotel in downtown Flagstaff.

Accidentally borrowed from Tom Bean, who must have been here. I hope to run into him tonight and explain this unauthorized usage.
Don't let the pressure of a "new year" get to you. You're going to get some things wrong, and a lot of things right. 2013 has been the best worst year of my life, and I SMOOCH IT ON THE MOUTH AT MIDNIGHT. 2014, here I come!
A good friend said tonight that she made a list of the fun and not-so-fun of 2013. Her resolutions are to do more of the fun and less of the un-fun.
I've felt like words just pad my experience lately, instead of describing or illuminating it. I hope you've been able to get to that pile of books on your night table in my silence.
Have fun tonight, be as safe as makes sense, and let 2013 slip through your fingers. Happy New Year, my friends.

Yeah, 13 sucked, but think of it like this: 14's gotta be better.
I can't wait, Jan!
Happy New Year! Every year gets better, even with a few pitfalls.
Happy New Year Roxie may this New Year bring lots of good travels and much fun. Maybe we will meet up in New Mexico this summer.
2013 pretty much sucked. I'm really looking forward to the next year. I hope your new year is just wonderful.
Here's to a 2014 full of new adventures! Squeeze it for all it's worth - in a good way of course
:-).
We love you Roxanne!

I don't know what it was about 2013 but while there are worse things that could have happened during the year, I feel like I did not make it out unscathed. However, I feel resilient and will move forward. I am betting you will too.
A blog post written by a friend emulates what I would like to move toward in the coming year and beyond. If you are so inclined here is the link.

Happy New Year Roxanne.
Nancy
It was nice meeting you in 2013 and I look forward to your adventures in 2014. Your entries are always enjoyble even if sometimes I feel like I am missing some inside joke. :) I especially appreciate your links and I use them as my own personnal bookmarks. Would love to learn more your plans for this traveling lifestyle. Do you have any specific goals for the new year? Best of luck to you.
Happy New Years!
2013 interesting year, I wouldn't have missed it for anything. Looking forward keeps me from tripping, so I won't care about what has happened just what going to happen and I can hardly wait to see. Here's wishing you all the adventures you care to have and health and happiness. Happy New Year to the girl who gives us the giggles.
Wishing you health, adventure, joy and bliss in this new year.
Metamorphosis Lisa
It's true, Harriet. The past doesn't exist. My cousin says "If the past calls, hang up. It has nothing new to say." Happy New Year to you!
Happy New Year, Berg! Keep on rolling (and telling us where you are).
Kathy, when you don't get my jokes, you reveal your solid, sane core. They're all inside jokes between me. My main goal this year is to feel good almost all the time. Seriously. That's how I'll fine tune my sense of success.
Mmm, Nancy, that slow savoring sounds satisfactory. It's what I want for myself, too.
Thanks M! I love you guys, too. Happy New Year!
Allison, it has been a challenge, hasn't it? Well, we've left it in the dust now, so no more worries. You're in one of my favorite areas now; I love Tucson.
We may just, Jo! Happy New Year!
I agree, Gaelyn. Here's to more good than we can stand in 2014.
I wish it right back for you, Lisa! Happy New Year.
Happy New Year to you Roxie and all you followers. I enjoy your blog so very much. Thank you for sharing your life.
Bev K, The Smiling Bohemian
Happy New Year to you, too, Roxi. I hope 2014 will be wonderful for us all! :)
Happy New Year, lets hope it is a good one all the way around!
Happy New Year from Mazatlan. Time to start thinking of only the future and to just move. Wishing you many great adventures and memorable moments in 2014.
Happy New Year! There is no use in dwelling on the bad stuff, it cannot be changed anyway, it's in the past. Anticipate the good things that are coming your way.
With your lifestyle there is so much adventure to look forward to, many gorgeous places to explore and nice people to meet. I wish you good health and always money in your pockets!!
Since 2013 was the worst year of my life as well, here's what I wish for the both of us. I wish that 2013 CONTINUES to be the worst year of our lives for the rest of our days! That I can live with. :)
Well, it's gone now and it's just a number in a series of numbers... if you're lucky. My son had The Shawshank Redemption movie on TV last night (in LA), and one line in it stands out:
"It comes down to a simple choice, get busy living or get busy dying." Let's live it up!!!
Hear, hear, Nickie! Here's to the better choice.
That's a wish I can get behind, Brenda!
Oooh, Bea, I like those wishes, too. Thanks!
Right on, Contessa. I've gotten bad at the future, and am floating gently, like a cork, in the now. Usually. Happy New Year from not-Mazatlan (but nice)!
Anneke and Barbara, it's all good! Happy New Year to you!
Thank you, Bev! I love your nickname - do you blog?
Goodbye 2013, bring it on 2014....hope to be hearing about your continued adventures, been missing them on the daily grind...Travel safe and often.
More daily grind coming up, Anon! Happy New Year.
LOL! And, more daily grind coming up anon, Anon!
Just glad it's over. Now onto a BETTER year!!!!
What's with Americans anyway and DROPPING things on new years eve? Balls, Cones.... what else? I'm sure no one else drops things on New Years eve. Is there a symbolism to that?
Hello Duck....Calling the Duck.... Moonbeam here, this is Rachael calling the Duck. If you read this flash the secret signal off the wanning phase of the cusp of Venus. I will be waiting for the signal! Lordy lordy we have a LOT of catching up it seems to me! Waiting for your signal, lov ya....Rach
Well, blow me down and over! Rachael! I'm flashing, I'm flashing! Oh wait, now I've got pants on. How the hull are you doing??
It's scary, Karyn, that's what it is. Dropping names, other shoes - it's not right.
Oh dear, almost late to the party AGAIN! Love the idea of a dropping pine cone. Your 2013 definitely qualifies for worst year although I think David's 2012 might top it. For him 2013 was the cake and hopefully 2014 the icing.
Be really clear about what you want your life to be and with whom. Then it will definitely be more fun than not and I know you can make it happen. Happiest of 2014's!! Hope you will say it was the BEST year of your life. Get er' done!!
Sherry, I gratefully hand Worst Year over to David. He can even have my tiara and my duties. And, yep. I definitely want my life to be with me, and any other with-whoms or with-whom-nots, or without-whoms will fall into place. Gettin' 'er done, SIR!
Believe it or not 2013 was my worst year too...I'll be discussing it soon on my blog. Looking forward to starting over this year and having it turn out great. Keep rolling forward, Roxi!
I'm sorry, Pam. I'll be looking for that. Onward!
I'm still staying the game with remarkedly little change in the statis quo other than a couple years older. I'll be spending the rest of this winter along the Texas coast. Once spring breaks, I'll start heading west and north again. The closest thing to a plan I have would be to hike to the bottom of the Grand Canyon. Other than that anything goes. Will you be traveling as well? I hope you are somewhere out of this cold spell!
Later...Rach
Happy new year and hope 2014 is the duck's meow or however that goes...
Been wondering where you been! Just found out that it's all Blogger's fault. Glad you made it to 2014. Looking forward to hearing about the happiness 2014 will bring you!
