Funny story. We went to Lake Havasu City yesterday and left our windows open.
If you're west of the Mississippi you're already laughing. Things were pretty much what you'd expect when we got back:
There are a bunch of things you don't want to do in the desert, and now we have one fewer to do. Luckily, the cats had all fashioned sand masks out of Kleenex and dish soap. I always knew I'd be glad they watched those reruns of McGuyver.

The psittacosis diagnosis puzzled the medical team. |

Flower people: bougainvillea? It confused me because it is growing OUTDOORS. |

Mountains, waves, sand and palm trees. Strangest juxtaposition yet. |

You know this one. Not falling down. |

It blew so hard here last night ...
[how hard did it blow?]
It blew so hard here that ducks flew backward. It blew so hard here that rabbits pooped the same pellets three times. It blew so hard here that I did, too.
Wind is scary!

Looks like there was a bit of an overcast.
There's this great place at the top of the hill from where you can see .. no wait I'm thinking of a place in Nepal. Nevermind.
Everyone even close to where you were knows exactly how hard it blew! We didn't like it either.
Yes, Bougainvilla :-)
It's been blowing so hard here I've started wearing scarves to keep my hair from beating up my face.
I can't remember ever seeing rock doves (pigeons) and mallards hanging out together... hmmmm... Glad Annie's migraine has subsided and you're enjoying life again (despite the wind)!
So not Annie but which relative? Honest, you aren't kidding? You left your windows open in the desert on a windy day. hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahah ha!
It blew so hard here, it blew the power out. I became a boondocker. I only like the wind on the first day, for just a few hours.
There was, Merikay. Then a wind blew up while we were there on the lake, and I thought "what could be bad?"
Steve, I know the exact Nepalese hilltop ... no, wait, that's Arizona. Forget it.
Wanderin', where did you guys wake up?
Thanks, Cyn. I've only ever seen it pale and thin, struggling in someone's greenhouse.
Ha, Rubye Jack! Keep it in restraints until it civilizes up.
Sharon, I don't remember seeing it, either, but there must be plenty for everyone there. Thanks - it's good to have Annie back to herself again.
Sherry, LEARN FROM MY MISTAKE! I found a brittlebush growing under the passenger seat this morning.
Gaelyn, boondocking should be a voluntary thing. Sorry to hear it was forced upon you. I think one exciting gust was enough for me.
Since I'm east of the Mississippi I am guessing the wind blew dust inside?
Love the duck butt photo and I just don't know what to say about the rabbit poop.
That's a phone box, not a police call box - so no Tardis possibilities. Qvack!
Still can't get my head around the London Bridge being in a very UnLondonny location. That's a word I made up.
You're welcome.
Karen, that's absolutely correct, but so understated. Sorry I didn't have a rabbit poop photo as a visual aid.
Bummer, Page. Those crazy Londoners have separate things for that?
Bob, LHC tries to make that area Londonny by adding fish and chips. We declined the illusion.
Hmm, wondering why you like to take pictures of ducks... ;c)
Great pictures, as usual it appears that you're enjoying your adventures, even in the wind!
Haha! I'm just drawn to them, somehow ...
Thanks. We were just moving faster than we cared to, but all is well.
We heard it was windy, and sandy. Now we know it was true. Thanks so much for confirming those rumors. You sure that one picture isn't Annie swimming?
Aww, poor kitties. My kitkat hides under a "blanket tent".
Russ, I'm sure only because I turned to dry-land Annie to be certain she was still there. Yes, when it's windy, it's even sandier - something about physics, they say.
Teri, do you make the tent for your kitty, or does she do it?
