Oh, boondockers. I think you'll like this.

And, not just in the polite Facebook way.

Marianne Edwards has just released her new Shunpiker's Guide: California Boondocking the Sierra Nevada Mountains and Coast. Ohboyohboyohboyohboy! That's right, the coast! Plus mountains! Two geological features in one instantly-downloadable book.

Frugal RV Travel, Guide to RV Boondocking.

I've blogged adoringly about Marianne's guides before. I'm about to have done it again. Now there are six guides to choose from, but why choose? The more you buy, the cheaper they are. [... so I sez, "Load 'em on 'till they're free!"] And, check out these pictures.

To top off this excellent product, Marianne offers a 60-day money-back guarantee. No questions asked. She won't ask "Is the California coast still in its original wrapping?" or "Are you sure you didn't soil the Sierra Nevadas?" Nothing like that. Nope, just your money back.

Also, when Marianne updates one of her guides, she sends you the updated version free. You've bought a lifetime of revisions for the price of one night at an overcrowded campground.

As before, I get nothing for saying these nice things about Marianne and her boondocking guides. But, buy them and Baby gets some new shoes.

You can bet your sweet patooty that when we finally head outta here, those books will be ours!

You won't regret it! Or, if you do within 60 days, no harm done.

Wait, SIX??? California, New Mexico, Utah, Arizona, Texas, and ONTARIO??? Which one of these does not belong?? Or am I AGAIN missing something here or upstairs probably??

OH if I could just get OUT of Florida. I can't buy these now or the drool will ruin them for when I finally, hopefully can actually use them.

Ontario - har! Sherry, there are two California books. You'll get out of Florida, then you can buy them and drool.

Oh, I forgot to say that Marianne won't ask "Are these drool stains on the California coast?"

so cool. I went to the site and want to order, but couldn't quite figure out the ebook thing. Are they downloadable to my kindle or just to the computer? I looked around for an explanation on Marianne's site but didn't find it, but of course found all the other goodies! So thought I would just ask you...

I love her books. They are definitely one of our favorite resource books when we want to do some boondocking.

That's a good question, Sue. Let me see if I can move mine from computer to Nook - would that give you useful information?

They are great, aren't they?

Sue, I was surfing on my computer when I bought my e-book, so that's where it landed. I just now hooked my Nook up to my computer and dragged it over. Does that help at all?

Sue, they download as a pdf to your computer, then you copy it to your kindle. Here are instructions

I wish they were like a regular book...I am so old fashion! But I might try it for the Calif one....would love to do some beach camping. Also AAA has some great camping books if you are a member...not necessarily for boondocking but they do list a lot of campsites just for general info. Aren't we lucky in the great Western states there is still so many great FREE places....not so back in the East where we have been for the past two months. Can't wait to get home to my beautiful Arizona...heading up to the north rim ...

p.s....I never get tired of reading about your food adventures....we are all looking for different and better ways to take care of ourselves. I do have one question though if you care to share...have you lost weight through healthier eating?...

Wish we didn't already have our itinerary planned as we are now in the Sierras. Thanks for the tip as I'm sure we will be spending more time in this part of the country.

Thanks for the info. Always looking for good resources. Love your humor :-)

Contessa, I don't know! QUACK! But, Marianne is a real person with whom I've corresponded several times, and she would for sure tell you.

Ain't, I share your complaint. I'm getting used to my e-reader, but it's not a smooth process. Something about licking my claw and turning a page. The East is awful for boondocking. I thought we'd end up at a KOA before we got outta there.

About eating: yes, we have both lost weight since becoming vegan, and probably a little more since doing this temporary juice diet. My theory is that, besides being better food than we were eating before, I'm not bingeing. Before, even if I weren't hungry and there was cheese around ... fuhgeddaboudit. Now, I just don't bother browsing unless I'm hungry. We don't have a scale, though, so I can't give you pounds, but I'd say about a size and a half since going vegan.

Nice, Paint. I've never been there, and I want to be.

You're welcome, LLRV, and thanks!

Contessa, I found this on the pictures page:

"California Boondocking: The Sierra Nevada Mountains and Coast - A Frugal Shunpiker's Guide"

Draw a line on the California map from Lake Tahoe to Fort Bragg. This California camping and boondocking guide concentrates on southwestern California's natural areas south of that line. It follows two routes. The mountain route takes you from Ventura (just north of Los Angeles) along the mighty Kern River Valley, to Sequoia, Kings Canyon, and Yosemite National Parks; the beautiful Sierra Nevada high country north of Yosemite; and historic Rte 49 that winds through the gold mining towns and wine country of the foothills.

The guide lists many free camping opportunities along the way and, where free isn't available, it identifies the next-best options.

Sure speaks to our lifestyle; recently the eastern Sierras, now the coast! Thanks for the info!

Yall are great! I got it. Now...Florida??? I'll wait for more...

Cool! I'm sure you'll be glad. But, even if you're not, you know...

Have done several trips to the Sierras, since it's literally our backyard. When you're ready to come up here, let me know and we'll plan a wine tasting tour. On one of our trips we went ziplining and rappelled into a cave for several hours of grueling spelunking... I won't offer to put you through that.

The Good Luck Duck said...

Okay, wait, you drank a lot of wine, and that made ziplining and spelunking seem like a good idea. I can see that. Alright - we get there, we'll drunk-spelunk.
